A short, sturdy ceramic lamp in brown, with a white jute shade that softens the light. We'd reach for this Alvary when a room needs a warm, earthy note at a lower height, and it's also made in cream, olive and taupe.
Where we'd use it: in pairs on a long dresser, or on an end table beside a low-slung modern sofa. Low lamps keep sightlines open in a small living room.
Pair it with: rust or mustard pillows, a jute rug and dried stems in a stoneware vase.
