Details
Slate blue and dusty gold is a classic combination, and this antique rug sets it on beige, taupe and ivory. It was hand-knotted in Turkey with a Persian knot, the wool and cotton pile is very thin and flat, and it has fringed ends. Only one exists.
Where we'd use it: a formal dining room with a long table, or a living room that has to hold both a sofa and a pair of armchairs. At 7'9" x 11' there's space for all of it.
Pair it with: navy or slate upholstery, antique gold frames and dark walnut.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
