Sky blue over sandstone and pale taupe: three quiet colours and a light, airy result. This antique was hand-knotted in Turkey with a Persian knot in wool and cotton, has fringed ends, and is the only one.
Where we'd use it: a smaller bedroom or a guest room, or a sitting area in a sunroom. At 6'10" x 10'5" it's slimmer than an 8' x 10', so it fits rooms where a full-size rug would crowd the walls.
Pair it with: white-painted wood, linen curtains and a pale blue ceramic lamp.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
