Details
Burnt sienna and terracotta set a warm base, midnight blue and olive green add depth, and ivory opens it up. This antique was hand-knotted in Turkey in half wool, half cotton; the pile is very low and the ends are fringed. It's a single piece, one of a kind.
Where we'd use it: a living room with a fireplace and leather seating, or a dining room with a dark table. At 9'1" x 11'7" it's a little under 9' x 12', which works in rooms just shy of that size.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
