Burnt orange and terracotta against cream, with sky blue picked out in the ornamental pattern: this antique runner has real warmth. It's hand-knotted in Turkey from wool, has a low pile, and is one of a kind.
Where we'd use it: a kitchen with white or cream cabinets, laid in front of the sink and range, where it brings colour to a room that often has none. A 3' width suits most galley kitchens.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
