Details

With half an inch of pile, this antique runner is thicker and softer than most hall runners. It's hand-knotted in Turkey, patterned, and one of a kind; the photos show its colours best.

Where we'd use it: a bedroom hallway where you walk barefoot, the side of a king bed, or a long entry. At 3'2" x 10'4" it suits most standard halls; check that nearby doors clear the thicker pile before you place it.

Pair it with: white or warm grey walls, a line of framed art along the hall, and wood or brass sconces.

  • Size: 3'2" x 10'4" runner (97 x 315 cm)
  • Construction: Hand-knotted in Turkey
  • Pile: about 0.5 in (13 mm)
  • Availability: one piece only, final sale. Enquire to confirm it's still available before you buy.

Care: Professional rug cleaning only. Use a suction-only vacuum and rotate it every so often. An antique will show its age in small ways; that's part of the appeal.

Care

Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
