Black iron, a metal cylinder shade and a rustic, workshop feel: Elder points its light down, which makes it a focused reading lamp rather than a room-filler. It comes in a long list of finishes, from black and navy to terracotta and yellow.
Where we'd use it: beside a reading chair or over the end of a sofa where you read. The coloured finishes are fun in a kids' room, a basement rec room or a home office that needs personality.
Pair it with: a leather club chair, reclaimed wood, a vintage-style rug and exposed brick or painted plank walls.
