Black grounds this Anatolia, with olive, tan and a surprising note of mauve in the ornamental pattern. It's hand-knotted in wool with a pile of about half an inch and a fringe, and the dark palette gives a pale room real weight.

A stylist's rule of thumb: go bigger than you think. A rug that's too small makes a room feel smaller.
Living room
Front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug. 8x10 suits most living rooms; 6x9 a small one; 9x12 an open plan.
Bedroom
Under the bottom two-thirds of the bed, with 18–24″ showing each side. 8x10 for a queen, 9x12 for a king.
Dining room
At least 24″ beyond the table on every side, so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. 8x10 for four to six chairs, 9x12 for six to eight.
Hall & entry
Leave 4–6″ of floor showing on each side, and a little more at each end. Most halls take a 2′6″ to 3′ wide runner.

Black grounds this Anatolia, with olive, tan and a surprising note of mauve in the ornamental pattern. It's hand-knotted in wool with a pile of about half an inch and a fringe, and the dark palette gives a pale room real weight.
Where we'd use it: a modern living room with white walls, a library or media room, or a large open plan in the 12' x 15' size. Dark rugs are also forgiving in a family room where the floor sees a lot of traffic.
Pair it with: white or ivory upholstery, mauve or plum velvet, black-framed art and warm walnut.

Ships from our supplier within 2–3 weeks, then a few business days in transit. Free shipping across Canada on orders of $250 or more, including large rugs ($19.99 from $100, $29.99 under $100). Rugs 9 ft wide and up travel by freight to your threshold (allow about a week more).
Returns
All sales are final, so please check sizes, colours and details before you order. Damaged, defective or wrong? We'll replace it or refund it in full, including shipping: tell us within 5 business days of delivery, with photos of the item and the packaging.
Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
