Rust and slate blue are a classic warm-and-cool pairing, and in this antique rug ivory, taupe and charcoal keep them balanced. It's all wool, hand-knotted in Turkey, with a thin, flat pile and fringe, and there's only one of it.
Where we'd use it: a big living room with a blue or grey sofa, or a dining room with a long table. At 10'4" x 15' it's longer than the usual large rug, which helps in rectangular rooms.
Pair it with: slate-blue linen, rust or tobacco leather, and dark bronze lighting.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
