Capelli's beige linen empire shade is 23 inches across, which is wide for a table lamp, set over a white ceramic body at 28.8 inches. The flared shape throws light broadly across a room.
Where we'd use it: on a large end table beside a deep sofa or a pair of club chairs, where the wide shade matches the scale of the furniture. Give it a table at least as wide as the shade.
