Ivory, cream and off-white: this Davala is almost all light. It's hand-knotted in wool with a half-inch pile and a farmhouse floral that shows up as a gentle shift in tone rather than a strong pattern.
Full detailsWhich size do I need?
A stylist's rule of thumb: go bigger than you think. A rug that's too small makes a room feel smaller.
Living room
Front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug. 8x10 suits most living rooms; 6x9 a small one; 9x12 an open plan.
Bedroom
Under the bottom two-thirds of the bed, with 18–24″ showing each side. 8x10 for a queen, 9x12 for a king.
Dining room
At least 24″ beyond the table on every side, so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. 8x10 for four to six chairs, 9x12 for six to eight.
Hall & entry
Leave 4–6″ of floor showing on each side, and a little more at each end. Most halls take a 2′6″ to 3′ wide runner.

Details
Ivory, cream and off-white: this Davala is almost all light. It's hand-knotted in wool with a half-inch pile and a farmhouse floral that shows up as a gentle shift in tone rather than a strong pattern.
Where we'd use it: a primary bedroom with white bedding, a formal sitting room, or a bright living room where you want the floor to look clean and open. We'd keep it out of the entry.
Pair it with: white-washed oak, cream linen, pale sage and a little brushed nickel.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
