Crimson, teal, burnt orange, mustard, olive and sapphire all share the field in this antique rug, so it's one for people who love colour. The pile is nearly flat, almost like a tapestry underfoot. It was hand-knotted in Turkey in wool and cotton with a Persian knot, and there's just one.

Where we'd use it: a study, a music room or a bohemian living room with white walls that let the colours stand out. The 5'9" x 9'2" size tucks under a desk and chair, or in front of a fireplace.
Pair it with: a plain white or cream sofa, dark wood, and pillows in a single colour pulled from the rug.
- Size: 5'9" x 9'2" (175 x 279 cm)
- Construction: Hand-knotted in Turkey
- Materials: 50% wool, 50% cotton
- Pile: about 0.04 in (1 mm)
- Fringe: about 1 in (3 cm) at the ends
- Availability: one piece only, final sale. Enquire to confirm it's still available before you buy.
Care: Professional rug cleaning only. Vacuum gently without the beater bar and rotate it every six months. Expect the small irregularities of an older handmade rug; they're part of its character.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
