Slate blue is a grown-up blue, and it's the lead colour in this antique, with ivory, taupe, sand and chestnut beside it. All wool, hand-knotted in Turkey and worn very flat, it's a single piece with nothing to match it.
Where we'd use it: a dining room with a long table or a primary bedroom with a king bed. At 8'6" x 11' there's room for chairs to push back without a leg dropping off the edge.
Pair it with: chestnut leather dining chairs, pewter and cream walls.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
