Details
A big neutral at 10'2" x 12'8": beige, taupe, ivory and slate grey in an ornamental traditional pattern. The antique was hand-knotted in Turkey in wool and cotton, with fringe and a short pile, and it's the only one.
Where we'd use it: a large family room or a formal living room with two seating areas. It's wide enough that a sofa and chairs can sit fully on it, which makes a big room feel more intimate.
Pair it with: slate grey or taupe upholstery, a big wood coffee table and linen drapes.

Care
Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar on wool and hand-knotted rugs. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; don't rub. Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly, and use a rug pad underneath. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
